Welcome to the Shadow Alliance Guild Newsletter for JUNE2015!
We actually have a lot to share highlighting “Shadow Alliance’s” accomplishments over the past month that all of us players, as members of the guild are very proud of!
But before we go into that, one of the questions that came up was, “why do we only do a monthly newsletter?
For anyone who has actually worked or written for a school newspaper or had a blog, we want to capture our moments and record the high’s to share with everyone! This article actually took three day’s to write compiling all the notes, our message boards and from the players in our guild over the course of a month.
We usually have “snippets” of news that we post on our message boards also for mobile readers, and users from our membership, but an active front page also shows how active we are! And we have been active!
We have grown from the last article where we had our core group that helped reform the guild, and we continue to grow! We currently have over two hundred accounts with 350 characters tagged as <Shadow Alliance> bending the Empire to our will! At any given time we will host up to 15 to 20 players concurrently through-out prime time play.
We also ensure that we are not just “accepting bodies” to fill our numbers. We have a very selective process we follow on bringing new players into the guild. We are looking always for casual-social players who are like-minded, and looking for a guild of the same makeup. We encourage and foster socialization. We are not a “leveling guild” and just won’t invite anyone on fleet spamming “LF GUILD w/10% Bonus” or such. We also ensure that players who join us feel welcomed and invite them to group be it daily fund runs, conquest objectives, or scheduled ops.
We are very apolitical, and with a somewhat more mature player base (we are playing a computer game after all) follow a process to ensure that those who do join the guild while getting to know us, and us them are here for the right reason. Don’t laugh but we have had a few players join wanting to know how to access the guild bank and withdraw items or become an officer. They abruptly quit!
By following the rules that we have established and maintain, it saved all of us problems!
Some random quotes from our members:
- "The time I've been in the guild, it has been a very great guild... I will not be leaving, I'm here to stay"
- "... in only a couple of days I have been given insight of the workings of a real, sincere guild that I have never even come close to being able to compare to in the history of my gaming."
- “I intend on bringing my other toons into the guild as well, and I also plan on making additional ones and bringing them in.”
Which leads us into the next bit of news… (segue)
SHADOW ALLIANCE [R]
We are cross-faction!
Shadow Alliance has re-opened our Republic chapter and re-launched our guild ship there, dubbed the “Shadow Spear” and has finally been redecorated and parked over ‘Oricon’ with Orbital Support for those doing daily fund runs either in groups or solo! Stop over in our gallery and take a virtual tour as it us fully functional, or better yet, jump in game and visit the ship!
We are growing also!
One of the issues we have seen and worked to not repeat is how one faction is favored over another, and half the guild moves to the other faction leaving one side empty of players. We now call 100 players in our Republic side of the house members of the guild in the short time we have been recruiting and are following the same selective process with invites, as well as our cross-over players so everyone who know's each other is "not alone." Same guild, same names, same players unique to each side! Especiall when we face off against each other in Warzones and see the "WTF" comments from both Pubs and Imp's alike whe we have the /e hugs /e cheers flying back-and-forth to one another, win-lose we all have fun!
We also are proud to announce that Oharon has accepted an officer role within the guild as part of the Repbulic side of the house and brings just the right amount of the crazy to keep everyting light-hearted and fun! So congrats! It is a promotion well deserved!
With everything else that happened, we are doing OPS again!
While for some it may not be that big of a deal, but to us it is, as we hate PUGS!
No worries about not knowing the mechanics or having ever done a specific op before. It's about having fun and doing it with guild mates! We have veterans as well as new and returning players who never had the oppurtunity with a guild to experiecne high level, end-game content! Now they are! We have already completed four Ops and everyone had fun, received decorations, achievemtent and can't wait for the next run!
So Kudo's and Cheers to one and all!
We have to give a special shout-out to Zero, who jumped us right into Ops, making everyone feel comfortable and earning the nick-name of "The Ops Guy." Some folks had some trepediation and Zero made everyone welcome and invited! Thanks Zero!
We are Shadow Alliance!
