Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, fathers, pappies, papa’s, pape’s, and grand daddy’s! Happy Belated Birthday’s to all who celebrated last month! To those going on vacation, Happy Independence Day and welcome to summer!
We had and have a lot to celebrate and recap for the month of June and the many, many accomplishments, we as a guild achieved! So let’s roll right into it!
We have hit an all time high with our members, and have had OVER 100+ players (mains/alts) who have logged in and played for any duration of time in five days! During peak times, we have had up to twenty players all active and in guild chats, or in mumble.
This was also not in just one faction, but on both sides of our house!
We have 440 characters (members) and 225 accounts (players) in our Empire chapter and 375 (members) and 199 accounts (players) in our Republic chapter. Some great feedback is that our members are happy to play in a guild, that is active, social, and you don't need to get to know new people as we have cross-over players as well as mains who are faction specific!
I for one do not know of many guilds that can boast those kinds of numbers!
We must be doing something right as a guild, but we also wanted to know what our members want, look for, and dislike about guilds when we asked, and you can see what they said, and offer your feedback as well, here in our forums.
We have actually come to a cross-roads now where our memberships and players have an established base and presence, and also with a thanks to everyone in our Pub side chapter who in two months since reforming have grown, that we are now closing our open recruiting to the guilds chapters.
A special shout-out has to go to Oharon, Panzers (hide from his short-shorts), Tez (Martin), Pistol, and everyone who has helped grow the Pub side of the house with active, engaging, and fun chats!
Lastly, a welcome to all our new friends we are making who have joined the guild, and a welcome back/home to all our old friends who were part of “The Sith Legacy” guild before/during/after it disbanded. We are glad you found us and rejoined us here in ‘SA!’ and sorry it did not work out in the other guild you had joined.
A couple of topics recently came up regarding the roles and ranks with membership in the guild and how officers for the guild are chosen. First, let me clarify that we are players also. We do not consider ourselves above others in the guild. We are not a clique, do no take the best loot from operations, siphon off guild funds, or take the best items in the guild bank. There is no “buy in” to become a guild officer.
A guild is only as good as its players, and we have really great players who are active, engaging, entertaining, helpful, and respectful. Our guild’s officers all have volunteered to dedicate their “play-time” to helping and organizing the guild. They were/are/and are players just like you and I.
They are members who contributed to the guild, continue to contribute to the guild, and are dedicating their time to help run the guild. We don’t just promote officers, to have officers. Every guild is always short on credits, tanks, healers, and officers! But, each of our officers fill a role that is something that interests them that they can work with: be it tracking memberships, keeping tabs on the guild banks/funds, leading and scheduling ops, keeping the peace or any other types of roles as needed.
We always need and want those willing to take on and volunteer to be an officer, but you need to show the members, as a player, you are willing and able to take on that role and earn their respect. If you want to be an officer, show us! Don’t tell us you would contribute more to the guild if you were an officer. Respect is earned, not given!
With that said; a huge congrats to our newest officer in the guild who since day one has taken the time to organize, learn, teach and lead us on operations! So to our newest officer, who was already fulfilling the roles as Ops Leader, Congrats to ZERO!
Our progression in Operations is really taking off and we are now hosting full groups with our Ops Runs! Everyone hates to PUG but we have tanks, heals and DPS! Not only has our IMP Ops groups been able to complete the weekend runs, but thanks to our newest Ops Leader, we are now also hosting Republic Operations being led by Pistol (Don)!
One concern that did come up was that we have both groups running the same nights and times, so we do want to know what is best for everyone and have opened the topic for feedback here. Share what you think!
Our operations runs will be a first-come, first-invite format, and will be listed on our Event’s Calendar each week, so if you would like to be part of the OP for gear, decorations, elite comms, be sure to sign-up!
We had a lot to cover and I’ve basically run out of room and don’t want to make you bored reading a book, so congrats to everyone and for making Shadow Alliance one of the best guilds around to be part of!
We are Shadow Alliance!
